Robert Fripp

Robert Fripp's Diary

Tuesday 13 April 1999

On this day fourteen years

21.33 On this day, fourteen years ago, my Father died. This early evening I cut a bunch of yellow & white daffodils from behind the house & drove out to Witchampton churchyard. This is the Fripp family village where my Great Great Great Great Great Grandfather Robert Fripp died in 1752 (or 1754?). My parents' grave stone is at the top & back behind the church, looking down on where Toyah & I were married on May 16th. 1986.

"Arthur Henry Fripp
Came August 11th. 1910
Went April 13th. 1985".

This is my epigram for Father's headstone, carved out of Purbeck stone in Blandford Forum. The phrase has a Dorset quality which I believe Dad would have quietly enjoyed.

Today in World Central: we received a significant telephone call this morning. Another part of our future seems to be beginning to slot into place. More on that later. David & I were completing the mastering for Club release No. 5: KC at Cap d'Agde. The sound & playing are very good, good enough for a main release, but the repertoire is sufficiently covered by "Absent Lovers" at this point. So, Club Members have a goodie.
